Job Title: Business Development / Client Relationship Manager

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Roles & Responsibilities

    • Drive the strategic growth of the company by identifying, evaluating, and pursuing new business opportunities within the oil & gas, offshore, and marine logistics sectors, including IOCs, EPC contractors, marginal field operators, and regulatory agencies.
    • Develop, manage, and maintain key client accounts, ensuring alignment between client operational requirements and the company’s service capabilities.
    • Lead the preparation, submission, and follow-up of technical and commercial proposals, pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), tenders, and bid documentation for NCDMB, NUPRC, and other industry stakeholders.
    • Serve as the primary liaison for contract negotiations, service-level agreements (SLAs), and client performance reviews, ensuring that operations meet or exceed contractual and regulatory expectations.
    • Develop strategic partnerships, alliances, and collaborations to expand market reach and diversify service offerings.
    • Ensure all business development activities comply with Nigerian Content Development requirements, local procurement policies, and company governance frameworks.
    • Represent the company at industry forums, conferences, and stakeholder engagements to enhance visibility and credibility.
    • Collaborate closely with technical, operational, and HSE teams to translate client needs into executable solutions while maintaining compliance with industry standards and statutory requirements.
    • Monitor, analyze, and report on market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to inform strategic business planning and positioning.
    • Implement client feedback mechanisms, satisfaction metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen client relationships and enhance repeat business.

Education + Experience

  • Qualifications & Requirements
    Education & Certification:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc./B.Eng.) in Business Administration, Engineering, Maritime Studies, or related field.
    • Postgraduate or professional certification in Project Management, Business Development, or Contract Management is an advantage.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive experience in marine logistics, offshore operations, or oil & gas services business development.
    • Proven track record in managing high-value client accounts, tender processes, and multi-stakeholder contracts.

    Technical Competencies:

    • In-depth understanding of Nigerian Content Development Act, local procurement regulations, and oil & gas contracting cycles.
    • Knowledge of offshore marine operations, vessel types, and service offerings to effectively match client needs with operational capabilities.
    • Proficiency in CRM systems, bid management software, and commercial analysis tools.
    • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills for market intelligence, business forecasting, and opportunity pipeline development.

    Behavioral & Leadership Attributes:

    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance client satisfaction with operational efficiency and profitability.
    • High ethical standards and commitment to corporate governance, compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
    • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence decision-making, and drive business growth in a competitive offshore services environment.

    Other Requirements:

    • Ability to travel offshore and attend client or industry meetings as required.
    • Knowledge of international maritime and oil & gas standards and practices is advantageous.
