Job Title: Management Accountant
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Job Summary
- The Management Accountant is responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and management information to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- The role requires a highly experienced ICAN-qualified professional with strong technical accounting expertise, commercial awareness, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced business environment.
- The ideal candidate will play a key role in financial planning, cost control, performance analysis, and business support, ensuring accurate financial insights that drive organisational performance and profitability.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Management Accounts:- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and internal policies
- Analyse financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods
- Provide variance analysis with clear explanations and recommendations
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process across departments
- Develop financial forecasts and rolling projections
- Work closely with business units to ensure alignment of financial plans with operational objectives
- Monitor budget performance and highlight deviations
Cost Control & Financial Analysis:
- Analyse cost structures and identify opportunities for cost optimisation
- Monitor operational expenditures and ensure adherence to approved budgets
- Provide detailed profitability and performance analysis by project, department, or business unit
- Support pricing decisions through financial modelling and analysis
Financial Controls & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and internal financial policies
- Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Review and strengthen financial procedures where necessary
Business Support & Decision Making:
- Provide financial insights to support strategic and operational decisions
- Support investment appraisals and capital expenditure decisions
- Partner with operational teams to improve financial performance
- Prepare management reports and dashboards for executive review
Systems & Process Improvement:
- Drive efficiency in financial reporting processes and systems
- Support ERP / system enhancements and data integrity initiatives
- Automate reporting processes where possible to improve accuracy and speed
Performance Indicators
- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports
- Efficiency improvements in reporting processes
- Compliance with financial policies and standards
- Quality of management insights and analysis
- Budget adherence and variance control
Education + Experience
Qualifications & Experiences
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- ICAN qualification is mandatory
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) is an advantage
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- Minimum of 5 – 8 years relevant experience in management accounting or financial reporting
- Strong experience in preparing management accounts and financial analysis

Salary
