Job Description

Quality In-charge is responsible for overall quality control of Blown film Extrusion, Printing and Cutting/ bag making section of the company. It includes online testing, sampling, recording, and analyzing lab results & attending customer complaints etc. The QC In-charge provides technical support to ensure effective and efficient lab function, while adhering to product quality, security, and safety guidelines outlined in the company’s requirements.

Responsibilities

    • Performs product inspection by quantitative and qualitative analysis as per the company quality control plan to validate product specifications and to ensure that they meet customer quality requirements.
    • Online quality testing of Extrusion machines (Monolayers & Multilayers), Printing (Flexographic & Gravure) and cutting/bag making sections. Make sure quality of running products are as per customer requirements.
    • Performs laboratory material property testing such as: Tensile Strength, Impact Strength, Tear Strength, Coefficient of Friction, Film Thickness, Gloss, Opacity, Haze, Melt Index, Film Color Measurements & FFS machine.
    • Records lab test results in the Lab Data Entry System.
    • Performs root cause analysis for quality control non-conformities and customer complaints.
    • Drives the implementation corrective actions (CAPA) when required.
    • Prepares product Certificate of Analysis documents and sends them to designated customers.
    • Circulates on a routine basis to gather and test all incoming raw material resins, mono and co-extrusion retained samples, and converted bag samples.
    • Implementation and maintenance of quality systems in line with the needs of the company.
    • Prepares report to communicate outcomes of quality activities.
    • Identifies, organizes, and files all gathered retained samples as per lab retain sample control plan.
    • Supports manufacturing on-site during trials and assists for materials-related root cause investigation.
    • Coordinates with lab equipment calibration service suppliers to ensure that the master lab calibration is up to date.
    • Maintains cleanliness
    • Creating and managing the quality assurance policies, documents, procedures, and forms with respect to food grade products.
    • Lead the root cause analysis, corrective, and preventive actions for customer complaints, internal non-conformalities, and supplier non-conformities.
    • Identify training needs and organize training of employees to meet quality standards.
    • Ensure that all quality reports are successfully maintained and completed
    • Initiate internal inspection and test reports
    • Ensure calibration of all lab testing equipment
    • Keep track of new or updated government regulations related to food packaging and the environment.
    • Execute quality control procedures to ensure high product standards and client satisfaction
    • Manage client complaints/returns, analyze what happened and recommend what do with the return
    • Assists with root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions (CAPA) alongside team members
    • Any other tasks and work and responsibilities based on business requirements assigned by the Board of Directors.

Education + Experience

    • University degree in a related discipline preferred.
    • 7 years of experience in a similar role and industry, experience in the polyethylene, flexible packaging industry/ blown film extrusion & Printing.
    • Ability to ensure that the products meet relevant quality control standards.
    • Good organizational skills and a methodical approach to work.
    • The ability to prioritize workloads and meet testing frequency requirements.
    • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills in English required (verbal and written)
    • Good teamwork skills.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Ability to work effectively through all levels of the organization to consistently drive profitable growth.
    • Team player with the ability to influence without direct authority.
    • Good data collection, management, and reporting skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
    • Experience with implementation of corrective action programs.
