**ICT - Product Design Training: Empowering Young Nigerians Through Innovation** Product design is a creative process that involves ideating, developing, and refining a product that meets user needs while achieving business goals. It encompasses various stages, including research, prototyping, testing, and iteration, ultimately resulting in a product that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. In the context of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), product design focuses on creating software applications, digital platforms, and user-friendly interfaces that solve real-world problems. The importance of product design lies in its ability to bridge the gap between innovation and practicality. By understanding user behaviour, preferences, and market demands, product designers craft solutions that improve user experiences and enhance businesses' competitiveness. In today’s rapidly evolving tech landscape, product design plays a critical role in driving economic growth, promoting creativity, and ensuring that digital products are accessible to a wider audience. In collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment (FMLE) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) through the Nigeria-German Centre for Jobs, Migration, and Reintegration (NGC), this ICT - Product Design training is designed to equip young Nigerians with essential skills in product development. The program aims to support youth by providing them with the technical expertise needed to thrive in the global job market, while also promoting upskilling and fostering regular migration pathways. By integrating digital skill development, such as product design, into its training initiatives, this collaboration seeks to empower Nigerian youth, create sustainable employment opportunities, and reduce irregular migration by offering viable alternatives. Through this initiative, young Nigerians can gain valuable competencies in ICT, contributing to the country’s economic growth and positioning them for success in an increasingly digital world.
